Food preferences which we all made each day influence our health. Healthy nutrition intake is a prerequisite to living a healthy life. India is home to 194.6 million undernourished people. That’s three times the entire population of France. (Source – www.wfp.org) Nutrition plays an essential role in a person’s overall health and well-being. A state of Undernutrition occurs in a person’s body when some of the vital nutrients are not taken in the right amount as required by the body. Below are the effects of under nutrition on the body:

  • Deficiency of minerals and vitamins in the body results in depletion of immunity levels of the body.
  • Fewer intakes of protein and calcium can affect dental and bone growth.
  • Insufficient amount of fibre intake can lead to poor digestive health.
  • Improper nutrition affects the optimum functioning of the brain.
