This treatment is used to treat open pores, acne scars /pit, accidental/ traumatic scars, surgical scars like C-Section, stretch marks with wrinkled skin, loose skin around the neck (Turkey neck), fine lines/wrinkles around forehead/eyes/lips. This is done using USFDA approved device with gold plated needles that help to deliver RF energy into the skin tissues which in turn help to stimulate the regeneration of collagen fibers within the skin.It can be done on any color of the skin as this device is color blind (that means it has no effect on the superficial pigmented layer of the skin and it only effects within the dermis). This device is highly advanced and way more effective than just using derma rollers on your skin to treat open pores/scars/ageing signs.

Today we will be answering some of the frequently asked questions about the microneedling radiofrequency.

How does Microneedling radio frequency works for nonsurgical skin tightening and scar reduction .

Micro-needling  Radiofrequency causes selective heating in the deep dermis at the point of insertion of the micro-needles avoiding damage of the upper skin layer(epidermis). This creates shortening and tightening of the collagen fibres, and stimulation of new collagen. This treatment helps generate collagen in two ways; The microneedles cause mico-injuries in the deeper dermis which your body heals with collagen production. The radiofrequency heats up the deeper dermis in 360 degrees around each microneedle tip for further collagen tightening and synthesis. Injectable RF uses gold plated and insulated needles for minimum injury to the skin surface for little or not at all.

Are there any side effects after the treatment

There is no major or negative side effects of this treatment but some might experience  immediately after treatment may be some pinpoint bleeding and sometimes swelling . Both are quickly resolved with cooling packs which minimize inflammation. Or some might experience a mild to moderate redness which in most cases is resolved in 1 to 2 days.

How many treatments are needed?

Each individual skin has a specific requirement depending on the concern & the extent of improvement desired , so Physician assessment is utmost important. Usually one appreciates a noticeable improvement in 3-5 sessions.  Younger patients want only preventative treatments and can get one yearly. Acne scarring clients should consider at least 3, and might be more satisfied with 5 or 6. However the interval level is flexible and depends on the treatment levels.

The procedure does sound scary but its is actually not. The treatment is done with prior numbing cream to make it comfortable. There is a very mild warm sensation during the procedure which is very much bearable for the client.  Then the device is applied to the skin surface releasing the needles and delivering radiofrequency energy and the device is moved across the area to be treated. After the treatment the multivitamins and serums are applied on the skin.

RF MicroNeedling is very safe. Because the energy spares the most superficial layer of the skin, most of the risks of side effects seen with aggressive lasers or deep chemical peels can be minimized or completely avoided. The devices used are USFDA cleared for their safety and effectiveness. MRF is unique in that it insulates the tiny microneedles. This is an added safety measure to protect the very top layer of the skin, which is the area most prone to damage with other deep dermis treatments .

How long will the results last?

The results of the Microneedling RF treatment vary depending on each patient. The collagen that is created through this process, however, will last at least several years that means the results attained are long term provided there is no further active Acne / trauma to the skin and one maintains an overall healthy lifestyle. Depending on the patient, the amount of collagen is variable, and depends on the person’s overall skin health, habits, age, sun exposure, and lifestyle. Professionals recommend that patients have a maintenance treatment performed every 7 to 12 months.
