Greetings from Dr. Manjari! Have you watched my Youtube video about importance of nutrition, if still not you may go here

The healthcare system needs a revolutionary change. In this fast paced life, medical problems are increasing day by day. To counter this problem, we should eat nutritious foods and change our diets & lifestyle. Nutritious foods prevent ageing and diseases like hypertension & cholesterol.

“The doctors of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition.” – Thomas Edison

Food preferences which we all made each day influence our health. Healthy nutrition intake is a prerequisite to living a healthy life. Coupled with a daily exercise routine, a person’s nutritional diet can assist in achieving a healthy weight, and it will not only help in maintaining weight but also lower the chances of chronic diseases, and improve overall fitness.

Impact of Undernutrition on our Body:

India is home to 194.6 million undernourished people. That’s three times the entire population of France. (Source – www.wfp.org) Nutrition plays an essential role in a person’s overall health and well-being. A state of Undernutrition occurs in a person’s body when some of the vital nutrients are not taken in the right amount as required by the body. Below are the effects of under nutrition on the body:

  • Deficiency of minerals and vitamins in the body results in depletion of immunity levels of the body.
  • Fewer intakes of protein and calcium can affect dental and bone growth.
  • Insufficient amount of fibre intake can lead to poor digestive health.
  • Improper nutrition affects the optimum functioning of the brain.

Benefits of having a nutrition rich diet:

There is substantial accuracy in the proverb ‘You are what you eat’.

The state of one’s body and how adequately it functions depends principally on how well it is nourished. Some of the usual benefits of having a nutrition rich diet are mentioned below –

  • Prevent us from ageing.
  • Aids us in managing a healthy weight.
  • Develops a healthy immune system.
  • Provides us with enough energy to work efficiently throughout the day.
  • Diminishes the chances of chronic diseases.
  • Uplift the mood throughout the day.

Improper eating habits are not only the prime cause of obesity but can also cause significant health issues which can even result in death. Heart diseases, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. are among some of the health-related problems which can be caused because of an unhealthy diet. Switching to healthy food preferences, one can protect himself from health difficulties.

The connection between proper nutrition and healthy weight reduced the chances of chronic diseases and overall health well-being. Every step is taken in the direction of eating healthy food, a step closer to stay active, healthy and strong.

Learning about nutrition and wholesome diet is going to aid you in living a healthy life. Studying regarding it will assist you in educating others as well.
