Thyroid gland is a butterfly-shaped gland in the front of the neck, which is a part of the endocrine system of the body. Being an endocrine gland, it secretes hormones and plays an important role in regulating the metabolic processes in the body. Thyroid hormones regulate the metabolic rate of many activities in the body, including how fast you burn calories and how fast your heart beats – all related to the metabolism of your body. Along with that, thyroid hormones affect almost all of the metabolic processes in your body.

Thyroid Disorders

Thyroid gland disorders can arise when your thyroid gland produces either too much hormone (hyperthyroidism) or not enough (hypothyroidism). Thyroid disorders can range from a small, harmless goiter (enlarged gland) to life-threatening cancer. However, the most common thyroid problems involve abnormal production of hormones.
The key lies in the right diet

Although the symptoms of thyroid disorders can be unpleasant or uncomfortable, most of them can be managed easily if properly diagnosed and treated. Making dietary changes can go a long way in treating thyroid disorders. Eating a healthy diet may help ease the symptoms and help you lead a healthy life with thyroid.
